Boracay Trip 2011

Early this year, I, together with my Nanay planned to go to a trip for my Tatay's vacation. This year instead of going to a beach resort in Batangas, or resorts in Antipolo or Laguna, we decided to book a flight and go to Boracay instead.

I was the one who's incharge of paying the airfare. My Nanay's incharge of the accomodation, my sister shouldered the land transfers fee and the rest, we divided it amongst the three of us.
I was able to book a flight thru Cebu Pacific, unfortunately there's no promo fare during that time. I booked a flight for 9pax (Me, Alwyn, Anjela, Nanay, Tatay, Sister Awi, my sister's boyfriend - Oliver, Mother-in-law Nanay Edith, Tito Dadong and Tita Siony).

Going back to the past...

I went home early from work because our flight was scheduled at 11 something in the morning. Taking into consideration the traffic, we went to NAIA Terminal 3 early. we took two cabs and it was indeed traffic. We arrived past 10:00 am.

We had merienda before our flight. I was a bit cranky that time because I lack sleep. We waited there until it was time for us to board the plane. It was actually the first time that my Nanay, sister Awi, mother-in-law Nanay Edith, Tito Dadong and TIta Siony will ride an airplane. It's Anjela's second flight and my Tatay's first local flight (Well he just said that to tease my Nanay but it's actually his 2nd local flight).

It was a cloudy day that I thought it's going to rain, fortunately it didn't and it wasn't that cloudy at all. It became sunny that my Nanay was able to see the view from the top. We landed in Kalibo airport (very hot weather) and there, one of the staffs of Island Star Express was waiting for us. He was holding a board with my name written on it so it. We rode van (we were supposed to have other companions but they didn't arrive so it was just us all through out the trip that we were scatteredly seated at our own comforts. The road trip lasted for more than an hour, enough time for me to sleep same goes with the other folks.

We arrived in the jetty port and there another attendant of Island Star Express greeted us and assisted us to the lobby. I actually didn't do anything because the Island Star's attendant already did all the buying, registering and those good stuff so we just went to and rode the roro to Boracay island.

From the roro, another (and this is the last promise) attendant welcomed us and showed us the van that we will use to go to our hotel. This was just like a 20 min road trip and then we finally arrived at Island Nook Hotel.

We actually didn't even considered looking for a beach front hotel because we'll probably be staying in the beach often that we just needed a place where we can put our belongings and sleep.

When we arrived in Island Nook, their attendant welcomed us and showed us our rooms. We're tired from the trip but we were really really hungry. After leaving our baggages in the rooms, we headed to Mang Inasal and took advantage of the unlimited rice. Pecho meals with drinks plus sabaw ng sinigang. Hunger's gone!

We went back to the hotel to rest for a while. Then in the evening we went for a night swimming. The water was really really cold.
After swimming, we had dinner and we slept.

Our second day in Boracay. Today we planned to watch the fire dancers in the evening. But before that we had helmet diving. Our accomodation was offering discounted helmet diving rates, so I contacted Nino (he was the same guy who assisted us the last time we went helmet diving in Boracay). Before when we were talking to him he doesn't have any voice (sorethroat) now he can speak! We got the deal for P300 for 30 minutes of helmet diving. I went with Tatay, Awi, Oliver, Tito Dadong, Tita Siony and Nanay Edith.

Again it was nice to be under the sea, surrounded by all the little fishes. We fed the fishes and after 30 minutes we went back to the island and then to the hotel.

We had lunch at Gerry's Grill Boracay, then we went out to shop for souveneirs. After that we went back to the hotel.

In the evening ,  we had coffee in Starbucks planning to wait for the performance of the fire dancers. Unfortunately it was raining so we decided to go back to the hotel instead since we have Anjela and she was very sleepy that night.

Our third and last day in Boracay. Since we were not able to watch the fire dancers coz of the rain, we woke up early so that we could make the most out of the good weather. It was just partly cloudy, just the way I want it.

You can see the wide shore line and it was really nice to take pictures. We went to the grotto for some more snapshots then it's swimming time!

We were scheduled to go back to Manila 3:00 PM, we had lunch at Andok's then went around to shop. We then settled back to the hotel coz it was really hot during that afternoon until our service arrived.

We rode a bus on our way to Kalibo Airport. Our flight was a bit delayed but then we were able to safely arrive in NAIA terminal 3.

It was a tiring but fun trip. Until next time Boracay :)
