Matabungkay Beach Resort, Lian, Batangas

Sharing one of our family outings. Last year we decided to go to Batangas for our annual summer outing. We went to Matabungkay Hotel and Beach Resort in Lian, Batangas. I was with my Nanay, Tatay, Awi, my cousin Erik, my niece, Jessa, Alwyn and Yuna. Although we were not able to make reservations for an overnight stay, we decided to just go to the place, check and wait if there's an available room. Luckily there is but we still need to wait because check in time is 2:00 PM.

First Day - March 23, 2008

It was a really hot day. The receptionist informed us that while waiting we can go ahead and explore the area. Before doing so, we went to their restaurant and hada buffet breakfast. We stayed in the beach and played in the sand. After that we went to the pool. The place was very peaceful. Since we're all tired because of the long drive and because of the very hot weather, I went back to the reception area to check on our villa. Please understand that we have a baby that's why we need to hurry up coz she's irritated already. The receptionist informed me that they're still cleaning the place which is good. Being the very patient person that I am, I waited for them to finish cleaning the room. Awi, Jessa and Erik played the billiards while waiting. We had lunch coz it was almost noon and while we were eating, one of the receptionist approached us and informed us that our villa was ready. In fairness to the management, they were able to prepare the room and we were able to check in at around 12:00 pm.

After lunch we all went straight to the villa and immediately turned on the airconditioner. Even if it's already on, it was still hot. Since we were all really really tired, we didn't mind how hot it was anymore and we all fell asleep. When we woke up we realized it was already late in the afternoon. I looked outside the window and I saw the beach. It was low tide. You'll see people walking around, picking up shells and the sunset of course. It was a lovely view. I went outside just to feel the fresh breeze. The smell of the beach.. of water.. the touch of sand on my feet...

I just love it!

After the very short walk, we went back to the villa to eat some sandwich and then go back to sleep.

Second Day - March 24, 2008

It was my Nanay's birthday. We woke up early and went to the cafeteria for breakfast. After eating we walked around the resort and took some pictures.

It's me with Yuna and the beach

Nanay tried to learn how to swim and guess what?? After 54 years, she finally learned how to float. You can see on her face how fulfilled and happy she was. That experience made her appreciate the beach even more. After their quick swimming lessons, we headed back to the villa and prepare our bags.

We headed back to the reception area to pay our bills. It took a while because they ran out of ORs so the manager tried to build some rapport by asking us how our vacation was, if we're going back to the resort and so on..

Finally they were able to produce receipts and we went home. As always I'm the one who's holding the map and I navigated our way back home. We passed by the Taal Volcano and we had a stop over at McDonalds for a quick lunch. We were supposed to go to Leslie's but we might have passed by the place without us noticing. After eating and taking pictures with Ronald Mcdonald, we headed home.

We arrived at around 3:00 pm. We're all tired and it was freaking hot! as in!

Third Day - After the Outing

Yeah the day after was such a bummer. I got sick for 2 consecutive days that I wasn't able to go to work. Hehe

Anyway, I really enjoy all our outings. It's really fun to go out with family. Even if there are some things that didn't work out according to our plan, the trip was worth it coz we're all together.
